Farne Island Workshop
Farne Island Workshops - Group and 1-2-1'sPuffin and Seabird Photography Workshop
The Farne Islands are without doubt one of the most accessible locations for seabird photography in the U.K, located close to the Northumberland Coast and with up to 70,000 Atlantic Puffins making this their breeding spot it is by far one of the best locations for getting close to these stunning species.
Our Trip will see us take in two different Islands - Staple Island and the Inner Farnes, this will give us the best opportunity to capture images of the large number of species, including Razorbills, Guillimots, Common, Arctic and Sandwhich Terns, ducks and gulls including the Kittiewake, as well as the areas resident 2,000 Grey seals which can be found basking on rocks in the sun.
Group sizes are only a maximum of 6 clients per workshop, this allows you to have as much tuition help as you would like and will allow the group to work together in some of the best locations. Tuition will be available all day, starting with a brief introduction of our day and camera settings on dry land.
We will have the opportunity to photograph the Seabirds and Grey seals on the boat journey across and, weather dependent, should be able to get reasonably close to seabirds on the water, flying and the cliff nesting birds.
Throughout the day we will talk about white balance, exposure compensation, ISO, shutter speeds and how each of these can be used to create unique images. With the small group numbers we will be able to tailor tuition and setting to what is best for you and your camera.
